What is a Community of Practice

A Community of Practice is a group of peer support workers sharing their experiences to ensure best practices in their work.

It could be described as a form of peer support for peer support workers.

A Community of Practice sees the group listening, sharing knowledge; talking about peer support best practices, values and principles.

It is a place where peer support workers can explore their practice.

Many peer support workers are working in small teams or in isolation, either because there is only one peer support worker in the organization, or because they live in a rural community. Joining a Community of Practice allows for peer support workers to connect with peer support workers.
