These workshops are designed to better equip anyone to work with/support people with mental health conditions (e.g. coworkers/family/friends) and supports those dealing with mental health conditions to gain more confidence. The workshops are a series of five * 60 minute workshops that explore what mental health is through the perspective of those with lived experience, and how best to support people living with mental health conditions.
These workshops support staff to identify obstacles to effective engagement with co-workers and others (e.g. family/friends/community members) they engage with, who have mental health conditions, and explore how to address these obstacles to support people to achieve better outcomes in their lives.

This new and updated training was created in conjunction with the Centre for Innovation in Peer Support. It is a comprehensive, interactive and practical training of peer support workers and family peer support workers.
Who is a peer? Those people with their own experience of living with mental health/addiction issues.
We have designed the training to maximize your learning through the use of many teaching modalities. We will be using videos, slides, dialogue, interactive exercises and games, and lots of practice to fully equip you to be in communities providing valuable peer support services after this training. This training is highly interactive and includes lots of practice of the skills you will need.

In this workshop you will learn to let go of the "where did I go so wrong with my parenting", accept the path that your family is on, readjust the dreams you have for your child, and start to recognize the gifts that come out of your journey.
